What to pack
Winter weather can be dry, cold, and changeable, so layers work best. We recommend wool for base layers and an insulated outer layer for time outdoors.
- Thermal underwear – Great as a base layer to help keep you warm.
- A good winter jacket – Make sure it offers protection against both wind and cold.
- Winter trousers – As your jacket it’s meant to keep you comfortable during outdoor activities.
- Gloves and/or mittens. Layering is great for keeping your fingers warm.
- Warm socks. Please leave cotton socks and nylon stockings at home; they don’t provide enough insulation and warmth.
- A warm hat
- A scarf or neck warmer. To protect your neck and face from the cold.
- Sturdy winter boots. Choose boots with enough room to wiggle your toes for better warmth and circulation.
- Thermal underwear for layering.
- A good winter jacket to protect against the wind and cold.
- Winter trousers to keep you warm during your outdoor activities.
Tip: Bring a refillable water bottle, the tap water here is safe to drink and tastes great.
